Green Wave Litter Cleanup Game!

Welcome to the Green Wave Game! 💚🌊

This is a virtual social media based event.

Help the Green Wave go global! 🌎 The goal is to build community while having fun caring for our planet and each other, wherever you are. ✨ Build the wave by completing the following steps:

1. ☀️ Go outside and clean up litter solo or with a friend!

2. 📸 Take a photo during your adventure of either:

   1. litter you find and will recycle or dispose of properly, or

   2. a friend using a reusable item to reduce your use of single use disposable items (or both:)

3. ✍🏼 Create your post. Be sure to include:

   1. Where you found the litter or used your reusable item

   2. Invite others to join you at ayw.givepulse.com

   3. Tag us @texasconservationcorps

   4. Tag #greenwavegame

4. 🔗 Click the “Add Impact” button on the Green Wave Litter Cleanup Game page to record the time you spent cleaning up litter and creating and sharing your impact social media post, and receive up to a half hour of service time per day. You can include the time it took to create and share your impact social media post as part of your half hour of volunteer work, along with the time you spent cleaning up litter.

5. 🎉 BONUS: Keep cleaning and add up to an additional half hour of service, if your social media post includes a picture and name of native plant or animal species you found on your adventure.

6. You can complete this game for service credit once per day, for a total of one hour of service per day!

Let’s have fun and keep it safe! All participants engage in this game at their own risk. Please wear gloves, watch your step, and avoid anything sharp or unsafe. Never disturb plants, wildlife, or property on your adventures. Stick to public spaces or your own backyard. AYW is not responsible for injuries or lost items, and we’re all here to do our part in helping our communities!

We trust that you will self-report your volunteer time honestly!
