About the Green Wave Initiative
Led by Texas Conservation Corps (TXCC) participants in Houston, the Green Wave Initiative combines community cleanup events with environmental education. Attend our events to help improve neighborhood health, reduce flood hazard and illegal waste disposal, and to enhance green space accessibility.
About American YouthWorks and TXCC
American YouthWorks (AYW), founded in 1975, prepares young adults with education, paid career training, and professional skills to enter high-demand career pathways. With locations in Austin, Houston, and Taylor, TX; Baton Rouge, LA; Oklahoma City, OK; and Springdale, AR, AYW expands access to education and workforce opportunities across the region.
Texas Conservation Corps (TXCC), a program of AYW launched in 1993, offers young adults ages 18–35 work experience through projects in land management, disaster response, and wildfire prevention—building the skills, qualifications, and professional networks needed to pursue long-term careers and leadership roles in critical industries.
